Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

Our client in Plymouth, MI is seeking a Quality Inspector for a contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Perform product inspections using magnified visual tools and measuring devices to ensure conformance to requirements from suppliers.
• Review technical data packages including certifications, drawings, schematics, and bills of material.
• Verify product configuration issues and resolve them using bill of material and kitting specifications.
• Identify and assign rework actions for containment and inventory verification.
• Conduct acceptance verification for incoming parts, work-in-progress, and final approval.
• Log reports and defects to ensure traceability of quality records.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Windows and MS Office.
• Mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to operate visual magnification devices and interpret electronic and mechanical measuring devices.
• Fine motor skills for accuracy.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Inspect incoming prototype components such as castings, gears, harnesses, and plastic parts.
• Perform visual inspections for rust, porosity, missing components, and damages.
• Check calipers and gauges for KPCs.
• Verify ISIR data and certifications.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and visual acuity.
• Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 is a plus.
• Understanding of ESD controls.
• Ability to interpret technical data packages.

Preferred:

• Experience with CMM machines.
