Job summary

Actalent in Peoria, IL is seeking a Quality Inspector to support QA/QC on a utility-scale solar construction project. You will collaborate with field teams, management, and subcontractors to ensure electrical installations meet project specs, NEC, and safety standards.

The role focuses on inspections of DC/AC wiring, combiner boxes, inverters, and switchgear, maintaining quality records and supporting ITPs, NCR tracking, and turnover documentation.

• Collaborate with field superintendents, electrical foremen and crews, PMs and engineers
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and client representatives
• Support commissioning readiness and punch list completion

Job Description

We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control efforts on a utility-scale solar construction project. This role requires close collaboration with field teams, project management, and subcontractors to ensure all electrical installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of electrical installations, including DC/AC wiring systems, combiner boxes, inverters, and switchgear.
• Verify construction aligns with engineering drawings, project specifications, NEC, and applicable codes/standards.
• Support inspection and test plans (ITPs) and documentation processes.
• Conduct and document pre-installation inspections, in-process inspections, and final acceptance walkdowns.
• Track and report non-conformance issues (NCRs) and support resolution efforts.
• Maintain detailed quality records, reports, and turnover documentation.
• Collaborate with field superintendents, electrical foremen and crews, project managers, and engineers.
• Assist in coordinating with third-party inspectors and client representatives.
• Support commissioning readiness and punch list completion.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
