Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect at various production stages to ensure conformance with design, customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Use micrometers, calipers and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure product conformity.
  • Identify non-conformances and communicate them to supervisors, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality records and reports.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Guide machine shop operators on quality-related matters and adherence to standards.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (visual, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiography) as required.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDE results and report defects to management.

Job description

Are you a Quality Control Inspector looking for an opportunity to grow? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Pasadena, TX, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and conform to design specifications, customer requirements, and industry regulations. You will conduct thorough inspections throughout the production process, utilize precision measuring tools and instruments, and perform dimensional and geometric assessments using advanced technologies.

Shift Information: 2nd Shift - Monday-Friday 2:00pm - 11:30pm

As a Quality Control Inspector you will:
  • Conduct inspections at various stages of production to ensure compliance with design, customer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to ensure product conformity.
  • Identify and communicate non-conformances, deviations, and quality issues to machine shop supervisor, engineers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and prepare reports.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to machine shop operators on quality-related matters, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct non-destructive examination (NDE) testing on materials and products using methods such as visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, radiography, etc.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDE test results, report any defects or issues to management and production teams.

Required education, experience & skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency (G.E.D.)
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach in high-stress situations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Preferred education, experience & skills:
  • 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and prior experience with Fisher products, manufacturing processes and organization preferred.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
