Job summary

Polaris Electrical Connectors is hiring for a manufacturing associate on site in Odessa, FL. This non-exempt position requires adherence to company policies, accurate data entry into MES, and proper handling of connectors and tooling.

You will lift up to 60 lbs, maintain quality standards, and work with management and the team to ensure timely production. Responsibilities include inventory maintenance, shipping duties, and following safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with quality policy and workmanship standards
  • Maintain and track inventory with cycle counts and data entry into MES
  • Read and follow job instructions and use proper tooling and components
  • Keep supplies stocked through requisitioning as needed
  • Care for housekeeping and tool maintenance
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for full shifts
  • Able to work with management and team members, and work without supervision
  • Certified to drive a forklift and perform timely pickups/deliveries
  • Ensure only approved doors are used for deliveries and exits

Duties and Standards to Measure Workmanship and Quality:
  • Position is Non-Exempt as defined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains and conforms to Company policies
  • Capable of working with and communicating effectively with management and team members.
  • Capable of working effectively unsupervised.
  • Ability to recognize and separate sub-standard and/or reject connectors from acceptable quality standards
  • Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs and maintain a standing position during a typical shift
  • Ability to complete all required paperwork and perform data entry into MES as necessary.
  • Knowledge and practice of good housekeeping and tool maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain concentration on tasks and utilize work time efficiently
  • Ability to read understand and follow directions per job instructions and to use the proper tooling and components necessary for jobs.
  • Responsible for maintaining sufficient quantity of all supplies by requisitioning them as necessary
  • Capable of adapting to process changes and learning new skills.
  • Ability to properly identify all insulated connectors, x-parts and tooling with capability of properly using and maintaining all tools
  • Ability to accurately keep track of inventory, do cycle counts and keep piece count records
  • Basic knowledge of shipping area and duties required
  • Ability to accurately receive supplies and equipment from outside suppliers
  • Responsible for reporting missing or needed SDS sheets on chemicals received to Controller or HR representative if Controller unavailable
  • Must have clear driving record and ability to make pick ups and deliveries in a timely manner
  • Able and certified to drive a forklift
  • Responsible to monitor that delivery personnel enter the building only thru approved door (between dipping and maintenance area) and leave the building thru the same exit in a reasonable time period.
Safety Requirements:
  • Understands the safety requirements for the assigned work area and follows all safety rules.
  • Reports all accidents or injuries immediately to a supervisor.
