Job Overview

Global Power Components, a growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures, is seeking a Quality Inspector in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves daily inspection, documenting quality issues, and presenting data statistically. Candidates must interpret engineering blueprints, as inspection relies heavily on accuracy in reading these blueprints. The inspector will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager with activities including:

  1. Part inspection on the manufacturing floor (30%)
  2. Assembly inspection on the manufacturing floor (50%)
  3. Data processing and analysis (20%)

Responsibilities include inspecting and documenting parts and assemblies, generating reports for training and process improvements, and engaging with engineers and vendors as needed.

Requirements
  • Experience with weld and paint inspection
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately and timely
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals)
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Ability to use a tape measure
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Pareto Charts (preferred)
  • Pre-employment test required
