You will work the 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays off, and use micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to verify drawings and specifications.

We are currently looking for a meticulous Quality Technician / Inspector to contribute to our manufacturing operations in Manchester, CT. Your primary focus will be the examination of precision-machined metal components, the thorough logging of findings, and the verification that all items align with our rigorous quality benchmarks.

Compensation and Schedule

This role offers a pay range of $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, supplemented by a 5% shift differential. You will be working the 2nd shift, which runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays off.

Core Duties

• Conduct visual, mechanical, and dimensional evaluations of metal parts to ensure high standards.
• Utilize various measuring instruments and gauges to confirm that components adhere to engineering blueprints.
• Log all inspection data precisely within our internal quality management platforms.
• Analyze inspection outcomes to detect and isolate any non-conforming items.
• Adhere strictly to standardized quality protocols, operational instructions, and inspection guidelines.
• Help maintain comprehensive quality logs to satisfy both internal and external regulatory demands.
• Collaborate with engineering and production staff to share insights regarding quality observations.
• Participate in containment efforts and corrective measures to resolve quality discrepancies.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements while keeping your workspace tidy and efficient.
• Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all quality and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing setting.
• Background in the inspection of metal or machined parts is essential.
• Proficiency in analyzing and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Skilled in the operation of precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Experience with data logging and the upkeep of precise quality documentation.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively without constant supervision.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in precision manufacturing sectors such as automotive, medical devices, or aerospace.
• Understanding of dimensional inspection methodologies and GD&T.
• Familiarity with quality documentation and established quality management systems.
• Possession of a technical degree or relevant quality certification is considered an asset.
