Job Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for finished products including documentation of final inspections and testing.
- Inspect finished products by confirming specifications on blueprints, conducting visual and/or measurement tests and returning products for rework.
- Inspect re-worked products in final.
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspection of raw material, components, and sub-assemblies used in final assembly.
- Document and report inspection findings and results and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings.
- Initiate Non-Conformance reports (material rejection notices) as required.
- Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products to ensure the product has been tested and falls within standards.
- Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
- Compares product with parts list to ensure completion of assembly.
- Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts or inspection tag.
- Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Perform other quality system processes at the direction of the Quality Director.
- Assist with attaching parts to final product.
- Test assembled electrical components.
- Designs and develops forms and instructions (Run Charts) for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
- Communicates with and directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product.
- Inspects product, providing receiving inspection of purchased goods, 1st piece inspection of product in-process, and Final Acceptance of finished product.
- May maintain Gage Calibration system, including checking, calibrating, repairing gages and issuing gages.
Requirements
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 to 4 years of job-related trade school or vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
