Job description

Join to apply for the Quality Inspector role at American Precision Tool & Engineering, Inc.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and update calibration system, including sending measuring tools for calibration to an outside lab and performing in-house calibration of specific tools.
  2. Maintain and conduct AS9100 system internal audits and reviews.
  3. Create and review all inspection reports and travelers.
  4. Conduct tests, inspections, audits, and validations to accept in-process production, finished products, and incoming products, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  5. Perform first article and in-process inspection in Machine Shop.
  6. Determine if the lot meets the specified physical test ranges.
  7. Document results as part of the Quality product release process.
  8. Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, including visual inspections.
  9. Maintain inspection tools and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, following safety regulations.
  10. Calibrate equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
  • Ability to independently perform first-piece inspection on machined parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in calibrating hand measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with Optical Comparator, CMM inspection, PCDMIS, and Mitutoyo.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel).
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing/Quality.
