Job summary

Mersen in Greenville, Michigan is seeking a Quality Inspector to help ensure product quality in our manufacturing operations. You will read blueprints and specifications to verify features and tolerances, and you will participate in quality control activities daily.

• Understand specifications of the tasks at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
• Enthusiasm to continually learn new skills and techniques
• Perform regular quality assessments on incoming material and outgoing orders
• Reject products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
• Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, specifications and GD&T
• Capability to accurately measure part dimensions, examine functionality and verify specifications
• Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
• Thoroughly document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
• Willingness to communicate and work within a team environment
• Maintain cleanliness in work area
• Promote, comply, and always emphasize safety
• Use and operation of a powered industrial truck; Hilo/Forklift
• Responsible for calibration of hand tools such as micrometers, caliper, pin/plug gages, ring gages etc.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations and work with decimals/fractions/standard/metric
• Use of various precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Advanced measuring equipment experience such as vision inspection systems, CMM and FARO.
• Ability to stand and be mobile for long periods of time
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Word/Excel
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Good interpersonal skills
