Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a QA-focused team member to inspect production materials for defects and remove nonconforming items, reporting issues to supervisors. The role emphasizes adherence to QA policies, risk management, and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma.

Candidates should have post-secondary education in a related field and 1–2 years of electrical experience, along with strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of QA methodologies preferred.
  • 1-2 years of electrical experience.
  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect production material for defects as assigned.
  • Remove defective items from production, designating reason for removal.
  • Report defects to the appropriate manager.
  • Perform internal QA audits compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Assist with QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) into processes.
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.

Specific Accountabilities :

Inspect production material as assigned for defects astrained.

Removedefective items from production,designatingreason forremoval.

Reportdefects to theappropriatemanager.

Performinternal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, andprocedures.

Assistwith the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and otherqualifiers.

Supportnew product development and continuousimprovement andby integrating quality control tools (e.g.Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) intoprocesses.

Promoteandadvocatequality achievement and performance improvement across theorganization.

Ensureongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.

Working Conditions:

This position requires shop work. When working in the shop, one must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally-occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards including small or large projectiles, contamination with toxic gasses/liquids, impalement, crushing, electrocution, explosion, immolation, decapitation and asphyxiation.

Safety policies mustbe alwaysadhered to.

Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed boots, and others) mustbe alwaysworn whererequired.

It isvery importantthat the incumbent of this position can work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and workingsafely.

Abletolift upto 30lbs or more asneeded.

Educationand Experience:

Post-Secondary Education inan appropriate fieldor a combination of education and experiencepreferred.

Knowledge of QA methodologies preferred.1-2 years of electricalexperience.

Practicalexperience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.

Trainingand knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing aredesirable.

Highlymotivated and self-directedcapable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimalsupervision.

Extremely detail-oriented and analyticalthinker.

Abletointerface directly withcross-functionalteams.

Abilityto manage change on the floor and work well with shiftsupervisors.

Abilityto review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and designdocuments.

Strong problem identification and problem resolutionskills.

Highlevelofproficiencywith MicrosoftOffice.

Strongworkethicand positive team attitude.

Clearand concise communication ability
