Job summary

Hera Technologies is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a hands-on team in a fast-paced aerospace environment. You will perform receiving, in-process, final inspection and 1st article approval of manufactured hardware, verifying drawings and material specifications are satisfied.

Must be proficient with mechanical measuring tools, GD&T, and calibration processes and collaborate with machinists and production staff to resolve quality issues while documenting results per ISO 9001/AS9100

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ Inspection/Quality experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret drawings including GD&T.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of mechanical measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Familiar with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect received material, in-process, and finished components to drawings and specs.
  • Generate inspection records per ISO9001/AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure painting, anodizing, chem-film, and similar processes meet specs.
  • Interface with machinists and production to identify quality issues.
  • Verify calibration of tools and maintain nonconforming material controls.
  • Prepare and document Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIRs) and FAIRs as needed.

Role Overview

Hera Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Quality Inspector to join our team working in a hands-on, collaborative environment. The individual will perform receiving, in-process, final inspection & 1st article approval of manufactured and assembled hardware. They will verify processes as required to ensure drawing and material specifications are satisfied. The successful candidate must be familiar with a manufacturing environment, have computer knowledge, a self-starter who pays attention to detail and accuracy and taking responsibility for his/her work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspection of received material, in-process and finished components utilizing various types of mechanical and electronic measuring, test equipment and visual inspection, to applicable drawings and specifications.
  • Inspection of products and material then generating inspection records in accordance with ISO9001/AS9100 Specification.
  • Ensuring material products and processes (paint, anodize, chem-film, etc.) are applied in accordance with applicable drawings and specification requirements.
  • Interfacing with machinists and production personnel related to his/her workmanship and determine if other quality issues exist.
  • Verification of calibrated tools to ensure that gages and measuring instruments are within calibration interval prior to use.
  • Ensuring nonconforming material is isolated/quarantined from acceptable parts and is properly documented and controlled in accordance with Hera Quality procedures and work instructions.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ Inspection/Quality experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must have computer understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to interpret drawings including GD&T.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize inspection duties.
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to safely lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to understand PO requirements and verification of Certificate of Conformance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical measuring tools including but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, scales, pin and radius gages, height gage, surface finish comparator, dial indicator, etc.
  • Knowledge of Programmable CMM/ PCMM "Faro Arm/Romer Arm w/Laser line probe" and familiarity with Verisurf and PC-Dmis experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of and experience generating Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIRs) and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

  • Must have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations
  • Ability to sitor standforextended periods while working at a computer workstation
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use
  • Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email
  • Abilityto use a computer to complete assignments
Job Details

Type: Full-time

Base Hourly Range: $28-$31/hr

Business Hours: 2:00 to 10:30 pm, Monday to Friday with OT as needed

Base Location: 100% at 350 Imperial Blvd. Cape Canaveral, FL 32920 USA

Travel: None

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
