Job summary

Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC seeks a quality improvement professional to plan, design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality improvement program involving physician and staff education on trauma-related items.

You will assist in identifying improvement opportunities, ensuring compliance with trauma quality initiatives, and preparing data reports for regulatory agencies. Collaborative IT support will optimize EMR tools for clinical reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field preferred.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree with at least two years of administrative experience in a medical or hospital setting.
  • Prior experience in quality, regulatory, and/or compliance highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Director of Quality and other trauma program staff to plan, design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality improvement program including education of physicians and staff on trauma related items.
  • Assists Director of Quality in identifying and problem-solving quality improvement issues related to the trauma quality program.
  • Ensures compliance with trauma quality improvement initiatives. Reviews records and documentation as needed for abstraction and assists the trauma program staff in accreditation readiness.
  • Gathers data and prepares reports that are needed for submission of quality data to various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Evaluates trauma reports to assist Director of Quality in identifying opportunities for improvement and evaluating risk issues.
  • Maintains thorough and up-to-date knowledge of data and regulatory requirements applicable to assigned program areas.
  • Participates in staff meetings related to trauma quality improvement activities, and provides in-service training to staff and providers as needed.
  • Provides support as needed by working closely with the IT team in the optimization of electronic medical record systems and related clinical tools to ensure system capabilities are in line with clinical reporting expectations. Utilizes multiple software applications to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, charts and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population. Effectively interacts and communicates with team members as well as external customers/clients/potential employees. Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
