IHA in Athens, GA seeks a Trauma Program Coordinator to oversee the trauma program, coordinate care, quality, and education across patient care areas. You will collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and lead performance improvement initiatives for trauma patients.
Responsibilities include accreditation reviews, staff leadership, policy development, and community outreach, with ongoing TNCC/ATLS/ACLS training and regional trauma system development.
Assists in promoting optimal care to the injured patient through clinical activities, professional and public education, injury prevention, and performance improvement and patient safety. The Program Coordinator acts as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to the trauma patient. Functions as a liaison for trauma care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties. The Trauma Program Coordinator, in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director, is responsible for overall management of the trauma program. The Trauma Program Coordinator will actively participate in the development of a regionalized trauma system.

The Trauma Program Coordinator will actively participate in the development of a regionalized trauma system. Coordinates and facilitates the review of the trauma patients to identify trauma admissions, deaths and transfers. Coordinates and facilitates the Trauma M&M quality review. Coordinates necessary education to improve trauma care. Reviews trauma patient care for all patients meeting quality indicators. Ensures the standard quality of care is being delivered for all trauma patients. Completes quality review in a timely manner. Oversees performance improvement and patient safety plan.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current, active licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia.
Education: Graduation from an NLM accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
C: Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience with at least 2-3 years in trauma, critical care, or emergency nursing. Previous trauma center designation and reverification experience desired in ideal applicants.
Special Qualifications: Participates in professional state organizations as required for trauma designation. Maintains TNCC, PALS or ENPC, and ACLS.
Degree of Supervision Required: Is able to function independently with minimal supervision. Works in conjunction with Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director for overall management of the trauma program.
