Job summary

The Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking a QI Coordinator for Trauma Services to monitor and evaluate the trauma program's performance and work with a multi-disciplinary team to identify opportunities for improvement.

The role includes assisting with data entry in the Trauma Registry, data retrieval and analysis, and presenting findings internally and externally. RN licensed in Georgia required and at least 5 years of nursing experience in trauma-related settings.

Job description

The QI Coordinator, Trauma Services is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance in the trauma program and worksclosely with the multi-disciplinary health care team to identify opportunities for improvement. The coordinator also assists with some dataentry in the Medical Center Trauma Registry, data retrieval and collection, data analysis, and presentation of data both internally and externally. Must be comfortable with both interpreting the clinical care provided to trauma patients.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing. (Required)
Work Experience
  • 5 or more years’ nursing experience in surgical care, critical care, and/or an emergency department, with increasing responsibility and interest in trauma care. Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN in the state of Georgia (Required)

  • Contributes to the smooth operation of the Inpatient Medicine Specialists Department.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Establishes and maintains close contact with primary care providers and their nursing staff regarding their inpatients being serviced by Inpatient Medicine Specialists team.
  • Analyzes and manages reporting of data
  • Completes quality reviews or reports at the direction of the director.
  • Identifies areas for further investigation and need for further 'drill down' of data.
  • Prepares reports to assist with accreditation of various initiatives/recognition programs, such as PCMH, Patient Safety, etc.
  • Designs and maintains organization wide quality scorecard.
  • Prepares Quality Committee reports including graphs, summary level data on all quality initiatives.
  • Maintains appropriate databases and reporting structures/media.
  • Effectively communicates with physicians, staff, peers using all mediums.
  • Implement applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care.
  • Researches patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve work flow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Participates in departmental Quality Improvement projects.
  • Develops in depth knowledge of intradepartment Quality improvement and the projects/indicators utilized to measure.
  • Actively participates in collection of data.
  • Interprets and documents data.
  • Analyzes outcomes, assists director with formulation and implementation revisions of policy and practice to achieve desired goals.
  • Participates in assigned Hospital committees/meetings and projects.
