Quality Improvement Coordinator

Department: Quality Management

Position Type: Full-time, 1st shift

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Remote Work: Within Our Coverage Area of Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Brevard, and St. Johns Counties

Position Summary

The role of the Quality Improvement Coordinator is to improve the quality and safety of healthcare our FHCP members receive. This position involves creating project plans, collaborating with various resources to enhance processes, and researching opportunities for improvement. Tools utilized include electronic health records, claims systems, clinical informatics reports, national guidelines, NCQA standards, HEDIS specifications, CMS regulations, and other relevant resources.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare management, healthcare informatics, or health education with five years of experience in a healthcare environment, or a graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN) with a current valid Florida license.
  • Healthcare quality and performance improvement experience required; CPHQ certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CMS Star measures, and health plan accreditation standards.
  • Interest in improving the quality and safety of the FHCP healthcare system and making a difference in members' lives.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, including creating and manipulating Excel pivot tables; SQL coding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, projects, and deliverables effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Effective communication with physicians and clinical/non-clinical staff to support performance improvement goals.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work remotely using platforms such as Zoom.
