Job summary

EPI is seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist in Iowa to advance agency-wide quality initiatives, accreditation efforts, and compliance monitoring. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Two (2) years of experience in human services required.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injury, mental illness, or related populations preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret information, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • General computer proficiency and willingness to learn electronic systems.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and a post-offer drug screen.
  • Ability to participate in weekend on-call incident reporting responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance and compliance efforts across EPI programs to promote safe, effective, and person-centered services.
  • Conduct audits, assessments, and reviews to identify strengths, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze quality, incident, health and safety, and performance data to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate incident reporting processes and ensure documentation meets agency, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support accreditation and certification activities, including tracking remediation plans and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct health and safety assessments and collaborate with teams to address identified concerns.
  • Partner with managers and directors to strengthen compliance, improve outcomes, and support organizational goals.
  • Facilitate training and provide guidance on documentation, incident management, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Serve as a resource for quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and continuous organizational improvement efforts.
