Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Anderson, SC, seeks a Quality Manager to lead the site’s quality function, ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer confidence. You will own governance of the QMS/FSMS, coordinate audits, and drive continuous improvement across production, maintenance, and supply chain.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Quality/Food Science and at least 5 years’ experience managing quality systems in manufacturing, with strong HACCP and ISO 9001

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Food Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing Quality Systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading ISO 9001 and Food Safety certification audits (FSSC 22000, SQF or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles and regulatory compliance.
• Certificate and demonstrated experience as internal auditor.
• Experience within plastics processing, packaging, or food contact materials strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality function at the Anderson site, including product quality, laboratory, customer complaints, internal and external audits.
• Maintain and improve the Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000) and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate external and customer audits; drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Oversee QA documentation, SOPs, specifications and records retention.
• Monitor Quality KPIs and report to General Manager and Divisional leadership.
• Support cross-functional teams to embed quality in daily operations.
