Job summary

FuzeHR is seeking an experienced Quality & Food Safety Manager to run the lab and lead QA/QC for a plant-based protein line. You’ll have authority to stop shipments, drive corrective actions, and partner with R&D, Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.

This hands-on, on-site role offers direct influence and a chance to build a world-class quality program. You’ll oversee a busy QC lab, lead audits, and ensure GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards across SPC/TSPC products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related technical field; equivalent education and experience considered.
• 6+ years of progressive quality, lab or food/feed manufacturing experience, including leading technical teams and/or processes.
• Experience in a food, feed, ingredient or ready-to-eat manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of FDA regulations for food and feed manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with GMPs, pest control, environmental monitoring, sanitation (dry and wet), internal audits, Kosher/Halal and Non-GMO programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
• A strong safety mindset and the ability to coach others on it.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Product Quality & Release: final checkpoint for materials and finished SPC/TSPC to meet spec.
• Lead root-cause investigations with corrective actions that stick.
• Turn quality data into action by spotting trends and risks; provide clear next steps.
• Partner with R&D on product trials, custom-product development and test method validation.
• Laboratory & Quality Systems: run QC lab, staffing, sample flow, instrument readiness.
• Build and train a team on sampling, methods, data integrity and documentation.
• Be go-to for LIMS and SAP quality transactions; maintain lab proficiency.
• Food Safety, Compliance & Customers: support HACCP, preventive controls, audits; drive traceability & mock recalls.
