Job summary

Jabil in Richardson, TX is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to ensure products meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation.

You will work with production, engineering, and supply chain teams, performing inspections with precision instruments and contributing to CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires 4+ years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or an Associate's degree, and the ability to work across shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support CAPA implementation.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and ensure calibration schedules are followed.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and improve product quality.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department.

Jabil is growing and is seeking Quality Engineering Technicians to work in our Richardson, TX plant. All Shifts Needed!

  • _ 1st Shift is Monday-Friday 730am-4pm _

  • _ 2nd shift is Monday-Friday 3pm-1130pm _

  • _ 3rd shift is Monday-Friday 1130pm-8am _

How will you make an impact?

As a Quality Engineering Technician with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

  • Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).

  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions.

  • Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities.

  • Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.

  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.

  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department.

  • Other duties as they may be assigned.

How will you get here?

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • At least 1 year in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

  • Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).

  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC).

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
