Job summary

Vega Americas Internal Applications is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support production quality and process improvement in Mason, OH. You will troubleshoot issues, document resolutions, and coordinate inspections to ensure orders meet specifications.

Candidates should have an associate degree in a technical field and at least two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. On-site role with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and assist with problem-solving and quality concern resolution (5-whys; Cause/effect diagrams).
• Document problem resolutions and corrective actions.
• Coordinate customer inspections and facilitate testing and certification of orders.
• Validate controlled processes (welding, soldering, painting) including cross-sectioning of welds/solders and paint adhesion testing.
• Assist in in-process, final, and vendor inspections, including use of the CMM and Niton Analyzer.
• Coordinate or perform calibration of in-house test equipment (CMM, Niton Analyzer, test benches).
• Monitor and help control scrap; perform Pareto and corrective action analysis.
• Revise and maintain process documentation to support quality improvement.
• Measure and analyze key quality data and recommend opportunities to improve quality.
• Facilitate resolution of internal problems identified through LifeLines (Corrective Action system).

Job description

What you'll do

Respond to the immediate needs of production or the customer by troubleshooting and assisting with problem-solving and quality concern resolution (5-whys; Cause/effect diagrams; etc.). Document problem resolutions and corrective actions.

Coordinate customer inspections and facilitate testing and certification of orders as required for customer orders.

Perform or coordinate validation of controlled processes, such as welding, soldering, painting, etc. This would include cross-sectioning of welds and solders, testing the adhesion of paint, and monitoring in-process inspections in Production.

Assist in accomplishing in-process, final, and vendor inspection tasks as required, including inspection of the product, including use of the CMM and Niton Analyzer.

Coordinate or perform calibration of in-house test equipment, such as the CMM, Niton Analyzer, and test benches. Support the Quality Coordinator with the calibration of gauging.

Monitor and help control scrap; including pareto and corrective action analysis.

Revise and maintain process documentation to support quality improvement, such as test forms, work instructions, and procedures.

Measure and analyze key quality performance data; make recommendations on specific opportunities to improve quality.

Facilitate resolution and communication of internal problems identified through LifeLines (Corrective Action system).
