Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to partner with product owners, architects, and cloud engineers across modernization projects. You will design and maintain automated testing for web apps, APIs, and data platforms, and validate migrations to AWS/Azure.

Experience in SDLC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps is essential for accelerating secure releases. The role requires strong SQL testing, API validation, and collaboration with Scrum teams to ensure robust, scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in software quality assurance, quality engineering or modernization initiatives.
• 3+ years automating testing with Selenium/Playwright/Cypress/TestComplete or similar.

Responsibilities

• Partner with owners, architects, developers, and cloud engineers to embed quality throughout SDLC.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web apps, APIs, microservices.
• Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, performance and UAT testing.
• Validate data migration, ETL, API integrations, and interoperability during modernization.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevSecOps workflows for fast feedback.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to define acceptance criteria and quality gates.
• Create and maintain test data, scripts, harnesses, and reusable assets.
• Perform root cause analysis with developers to resolve defects and prevent recurrence.
• Utilize AI-enabled testing tools to improve coverage and reduce manual effort.
• Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to measure release readiness.
