Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager in the Fremont area, CA. This 100% onsite role leads the quality function for EMS PCBA/Box Build environments, aligning with manufacturing and customer teams to uphold quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in ISO-quality systems, CAPA/8D processes and a proven track record of reducing defects and scrap while developing a high-performing quality engineering team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of quality experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
• Minimum 3 years of quality leadership or management experience.
• Hands-on PCBA and Box Build manufacturing experience.
• Customer-facing quality management including escalations, audits and complaint resolution.
• Strong expertise in root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA and corrective action programs.
• Experience supporting SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection and NPI processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100 and IATF 16949.
• Experience driving continuous improvement, defect reduction and scrap/rework reduction.
• Ability to lead and develop a quality engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality engineering team and manage customer quality expectations.
• Drive corrective actions and CAPA programs to reduce defects and scrap.
• Oversee audits, root cause analyses and 8D problem solving.
• Support SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test and NPI processes to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Engineering Manager

Salary Range: $130,000–$150,000
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Requirements

1. Minimum 8 years of quality experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.


2. Minimum 3 years of quality leadership or management experience.


3. Strong hands-on experience with **PCBA and Box Build manufacturing


4. Proven customer-facing quality management experience, including customer escalations, audits, and complaint resolution.


5. Strong expertise in root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and corrective action programs


6. Experience supporting SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection, and NPI processes


7. Knowledge of quality systems and compliance, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and IATF 16949.


8. Experience driving continuous improvement, defect reduction, yield improvement, and reducing scrap/rework


9. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop quality engineering teams

Preferred: ASQ CQE/CQM certification, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, and working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721.
