Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager for its Fremont, CA operations. The role is 100% onsite with a salary range of $130,000–$150,000 per year. Full-time employment.

The ideal candidate will lead a quality engineering team, supervise customer quality initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across SMT, PCBA, and NPI processes while maintaining ISO 9001/13485, AS9100, and IATF 16949 standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of quality experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
• 3+ years of quality leadership or management experience.
• Hands-on experience with PCBA and Box Build manufacturing.
• Proven customer-facing quality management experience, incl. escalations, audits, and complaint resolution.
• Strong expertise in root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and corrective action programs.
• Experience supporting SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection, and NPI processes.
• Knowledge of quality systems and compliance: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949.
• Experience driving continuous improvement, defect reduction, yield improvement, and reducing scrap/rework.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop quality engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the quality engineering team.
• Manage customer quality, including escalations and audits.
• Drive defect reduction, yield improvements, and reduce scrap/rework.
• Support SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection, and NPI processes.

2. Minimum 3 years of quality leadership or management experience.


3. Strong hands-on experience with **PCBA and Box Build manufacturing
