Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC in Fremont, CA is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineering Manager for an on-site role. You will lead a quality team, ensure product performance, and drive customer satisfaction across EMS PCBA manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in quality with 3+ years in leadership, deep ISO/IATF expertise, and a proven track record of reducing defects, improving yield, and guiding continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of quality experience in EMS environments.
• 3+ years of quality leadership or management.
• Hands-on PCBA and box-build manufacturing experience.
• Customer-facing quality management including audits and escalations.
• Root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and corrective actions.
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100 and IATF 16949.
• Ability to lead continuous improvement and reduce scrap/rework.
• Lead and develop quality engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Quality Engineering team to meet quality objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement, defect reduction, and yield improvement initiatives.
• Manage customer quality activities, escalations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Oversee CAPA, 8D problem solving, and robustness of corrective actions.
• Support SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection, and NPI processes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF quality standards and customer requirements.

Quality Engineering Manager

FREMONT AREA, CA — 100% onsite
Salary Range: $130,000–$150,000
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Requirements

1. Minimum 8 years of quality experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.


2. Minimum 3 years of quality leadership or management experience.


3. Strong hands-on experience with **PCBA and Box Build manufacturing


4. Proven customer-facing quality management experience, including customer escalations, audits, and complaint resolution.


5. Strong expertise in root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and corrective action programs


6. Experience supporting SMT, Through-Hole, Functional Test, Final Inspection, and NPI processes


7. Knowledge of quality systems and compliance, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and IATF 16949.


8. Experience driving continuous improvement, defect reduction, yield improvement, and reducing scrap/rework


9. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop quality engineering teams

Preferred: ASQ CQE/CQM certification, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, and working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721.
