Job summary

Marvin is seeking an Engineering Quality Intern for our Roanoke, VA production facility. You will support the Quality Management System, develop SOPs, and analyze data to identify defects and opportunities for improvement.

The role emphasizes training, collaboration, and hands-on QA activities with ISO & WDMA Hallmark considerations. Strong communication and Office skills are required; a bachelor's-focused path is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards a bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Quality-related Engineering field.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred.
• Demonstration of strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
• Ability to learn & use measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, feeler gauges, measurement probes, and optical comparators a plus.
• Experience with tools such as A3, 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Swimlane Flowcharts, Kaizen, FMEA, DoE, SPC, and Gage R&R a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO & WDMA Hallmark certifications.
• Develop, review, and maintain SOPs for processes and update existing SOPs as necessary.
• Collect, analyze, and monitor quality data and performance metrics to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities.
• Lead and participate in formal problem-solving activities to drive CAPA and reduce rework.
• Develop, perform, and schedule internal quality audits and communicate audit results to stakeholders.
• Support Quality at the Source initiatives by assisting in integration of quality checks into production processes.
• Collaborate with and train associates on quality specifications and processes.
