Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is offering an internship in Rockport, IN for a Quality Engineering intern. You will participate in safety inspections, lab workflow, and calibration activities while supporting metallurgical investigations and data-mining projects.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year by Summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Create new operating efficiencies to maintain production, testing, and shipping with a leaner workforce.
• Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
• Responsible for Metallurgical investigations and data mining.

Bachelor of Science program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical degree

Sophomore year completion by Summer 2027
