Qualifications

  • Enrollment in BS program in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  • Completion of at least sophomore year by summer 2027.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.
  • Work safely and ensure plant safety policies are followed.
  • Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
  • Manage test equipment calibrations.
  • Create new operating efficiencies to maintain production, testing, and shipping of steel with a leaner workforce.
  • Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
  • Data-mining investigations with metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
  • Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
  • Manage 3rd party testing inspection.
  • Maintain tracking of Steelmaking scrap, referral, and diversions.
  • Metallurgical investigations.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or other related technical degree
  • Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
