Job summary

You will drive RCAs, containment, and corrective actions for stamping processes, while coordinating with production, tooling, maintenance, and launch teams to improve process capability and prevent defects. This role requires hands-on manufacturing experience in a high-volume stamping environment and leadership on quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and team development in a high-volume stamping environment.
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis with data-driven decisions.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across production, tooling, and launch activities.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, APQP, 8D.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the quality engineering team supporting stamping operations.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor quality engineering work to support production and customer requirements.
  • Drive reduction of quality defects through structured problem solving and corrective action.
  • Escalate quality concerns related to stamped components and process gaps.
  • Support containment, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions for customer issues.
  • Ensure effective use of core quality tools and methodical quality documentation.
  • Partner with production, tooling, maintenance, and launch teams to improve process capability.
  • Lead readiness activities for new product launches and process transfers.
  • Review and approve quality documentation, inspection standards, and control methods.
  • Drive improvements in dimensional verification, first-piece/audit processes.
  • Analyze quality data and trends related to scrap and rework.
  • Coordinate customer visits, quality reviews, and response activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Coach team and cross-functional personnel in quality methods and problem solving.
  • Participate in internal audits and corrective action follow-ups.
