Emerson is offering a technical co-op opportunity designed for engineering students to gain real-world experience. You will work across multiple departments, tackling safety, quality, and production challenges while building hands-on skills under senior guidance.

You will collaborate with engineers and teams, document workflows, and contribute to lean manufacturing projects. This role emphasizes professional growth, mentorship, and structured learning within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, teams, and departments to solve safety, quality, and production challenges.
  • Document current and future state workflows and identify process improvements.
  • Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary.
  • Complete projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Job description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Expand your technical and professional skills in a real-world setting. Emerson co-ops are given meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders. There is the potential to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of ways by exploring opportunities associated with your major and rotating through multiple departments.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges
  • Document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements
  • Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
  • Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary
  • Complete projects as assigned by Quality Manager

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • College status of a junior or senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
  • Six months generalized work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • General Lean Manufacturing knowledge
