Job summary

Emerson is seeking an engineering co-op to lead a small, well-scoped project and contribute to a larger program. You will coordinate across Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware teams and support planning, scheduling, and risk mitigation.

You will drive team alignment, contribute to deliverables, apply structured processes, and present updates to leadership, gaining hands-on experience in a structured coop program.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • Ability to solve technical problems and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small, well-scoped engineering project or sub-workstream within a larger program.
  • Coordinate across Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware disciplines.
  • Support project execution activities: planning, task breakdown, schedule tracking, and risk mitigation.

  • Contribute to engineering deliverables in your area of expertise.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  • Lead a small, well-scoped engineering project or a sub-workstream within a larger program

  • Coordinate across disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, & Firmware

  • Support project execution activities, including:

    • Planning and task breakdown

    • Schedule tracking and status reporting

    • Risk identification and mitigation



  • Drive team alignment and communication

    • Facilitate stand-ups or small team reviews

    • Track action items and follow-ups



  • Contribute to engineering deliverables in your area of expertise

  • Apply structured processes (e.g., requirements, traceability, quality practices)

  • Present project updates and outcomes to leadership


For This Role, You Will Need:


  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field

  • Demonstrated ability to:

    • Solve technical problems

    • Communicate clearly (written and verbal)

    • Work in a team environment
