Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to ensure products meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and meticulous documentation. You will support continuous improvement and CAPA initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires attention to detail, strong measurement skills, and experience with quality tools. This on-site position offers growth within a global engineering and manufacturing network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in quality control/assurance in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per specs and control plans.
• Conduct quality tests with precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).
• Document inspection results, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials; track disposition activities.
• Assist in root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and schedules.
• Collaborate with production/engineering/supply chain to improve quality.

Location/Division Specific Information

• Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday

• Hours: Shift D | 6:00PM - 5:30AM EST

• Compensation: Hourly

How will you make an impact?

As a Quality Engineering Technician with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans.

• Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).

• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions.

• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities.

• Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.

• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules.

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.

• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department.

• Other duties as they may be assigned.

How will you get here?

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

• Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).

• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC).

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
