Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to ensure products and processes meet strict quality standards. You will inspect components and assemblies, document results, and support CAPA initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM), participating in audits, and collaborating with production and engineering to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in manufacturing.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical specs.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per specs and control plans.
• Conduct tests using calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, and optical comparators.
• Document inspection results, including non-conformances and CAPA actions.
• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials and dispositions.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Participate in internal audits and assist external audits as required.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and schedules.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues.
• Contribute to quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives within the quality department.

• Hours: Shift D | 6:00PM - 5:30AM EST

How will you make an impact?

As a Quality Engineering Technician with Jabil, you will ensure products and processes meet established quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to specifications and control plans.

• Conduct various quality tests using precision measuring instruments and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).

• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including non-conformances and corrective actions.

• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials; initiate and track disposition activities.

• Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.

• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to calibration schedules.

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.

• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the quality department.

• Other duties as they may be assigned.

How will you get here?

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

• Experience with various precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).

• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC).

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
