Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on quality engineering or technician experience in metal parts.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • IATF-16949 quality standards familiarity.
  • Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect metal parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement QC procedures and work instructions.
  • Audit production processes for improvements.
  • Build and maintain quality metrics and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Train production personnel on QC procedures.
  • Manage gage calibration and calibration records.

Quality Engineer/Technician - Shelby Township, Michigan90-day Potential Contract-to-Hire rolePay Rate: $25.00-$42.00 per hour (based on proven work history)Job Summary of the Quality Engineer/Technician:Our customer is seeking a HANDS-ON Quality Engineer/Technician with a strong background in metal parts. You'll make sure every part our customer ships meets the highest quality standards and specifications, working both independently and alongside our production and engineering teams.Key Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer/Technician:Inspect metal parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM to verify conformanceLead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actionsDevelop and implement quality control procedures and work instructionsPartner with production and engineering to resolve issues and improve product qualityAudit production processes regularly to identify areas for improvementBuild and maintain quality metrics and reports to track performance and trendsEnsure compliance with all relevant quality standards and regulationsTrain production personnel on quality control procedures and techniquesManage gage calibration and calibration records, and maintain the quality labQualifications of the Quality Engineer/Technician:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field3+ years of hands-on quality engineering or technician experience in metal parts manufacturingKnowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing toolsProficiency with calipers, micrometers, and gaugesExperience with IATF-16949 and related qualitiy standardsStrong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision makingExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a teamCMM Operation and programming experience - HIGHLY PREFERREDA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.By applying for this role, you confirm that all information submitted is accurate and complete.
