Job summary

Symbotic, an AI-powered warehouse automation leader, seeks Quality Engineers to support supplier quality, field reliability, and site installation teams. The role is hybrid, Detroit-based with two onsite days weekly, and involves audits, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional problem solving to ensure product quality across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; regulated manufacturing exp preferred.
• Minimum 3 years quality engineering in regulated manufacturing.
• Knowledge of QMS tools: FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, 8D, etc.
• Experience with Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAP or equivalent.
• Proficient with SPC software (Minitab/JMP) and advanced Excel.
• CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt preferred; ISO 9001/AS9100 auditor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with standards.
• Serve as primary quality contact for suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to identify improvements.
• Support quality planning through product lifecycle, NPI, and production readiness.
• Lead root-cause investigations using QRRC, 8D, A3, and 5-Why.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Monitor supplier quality KPIs and drive improvement actions.
• Maintain quality documentation and report on supplier performance.
