Job summary

MPI is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support a high-volume manufacturing environment, partnering with production teams to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement. You will apply metallurgical knowledge to root cause investigations, audits, and product compliance, delivering data-driven quality reports in a fast-paced plant setting.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and have experience in steel/heavy industry, ISO/IATF

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience in steel or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, with exposure to ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process improvements
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with operations and engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in a plant environment
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven setting

Responsibilities

  • Support QA efforts in a large-scale manufacturing environment to ensure products meet customer specs and internal standards
  • Provide metallurgical and technical support across production in partnership with operations
  • Analyze process and product data to identify quality improvement opportunities
  • Lead and support root cause investigations, rejection analyses, and corrective actions
  • Perform internal audits and maintain compliance with quality systems and procedures
  • Develop and present quality reports and participate in quality-related meetings
  • Conduct daily floor audits to ensure operations run within defined parameters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and product quality

Profile

Job Offer
  • Salary typically between $70K-$100K depending on experience
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401k with ~6% company match
  • PTO starting at 2 weeks, increasing to 3 weeks
