Job summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC is seeking a qualified individual to support the Quality System for the Repair Services Division in St. Louis, MO. The role focuses on auditing, improving quality processes, and maintaining ISO 9001 compliance to support the division’s business goals.

Responsibilities include coordinating corrective actions, supplier quality monitoring, and providing training on quality practices to staff. On-site work in St. Louis is required.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree preferred and related to power industry quality.
  • 5+ years of related field experience in power industry quality.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 requirements and quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process operations audits and quality system audits for Repairs Division.
  • Coordinate nonconformance and corrective/preventive actions to drive improvement.
  • Lead regular quality management reviews and track improvement priorities.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, procedures, and data sheets.
  • Monitor supplier quality, qualify new suppliers, and audit existing ones.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 certification compliance and calibration of gauges and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with Repair Services teams and customers as applicable.
  • Provide quality training related to responsibilities and the Quality System.

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.

In this role, you will support the Quality System needs of the Repair Services Division and provide a resource for developing and implementing good Quality practices while supporting the Division’s overall business objectives. This role is onsite in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities include:
  • Quality Auditing: Conduct In-Process operations audits and Quality System Audits of the Repairs Division to assure proper practices and verifications are being used. Support customer audits as required.
  • Quality Improvement: Coordinate the Nonconformance & Corrective Action Processes. Collect, maintain & analyze Cost of Quality and Cost of EBIT data to help drive continuous improvement & resolve Quality problems. Initiate Quality Alerts and Technical Bulletins where applicable.
  • Quality Management: Coordinate regular Quality/Management Reviews to review Division performance against goals/objectives – establish, implement, and track improvement priorities.
  • Document Development & Control: Prepare, develop, & maintain needed work instructions/procedures & data/check sheets to support the expanding business.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor Supplier Quality performance. Support the qualification of new Suppliers. Work with Key Suppliers to improve their Quality performance, where needed. Audit new & existing suppliers where needed.
  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Maintain Repair Services ISO 9001 Quality Certification by assuring compliance with all applicable ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Gauge/Instrument Calibration: Assure consistent tracking & calibration of Repair Services gauges, standards, & test equipment.
  • Establish & develop effective lines of communication with Repair Services and MD&A personnel, supervisors/managers, and customers where applicable
  • Provide Quality training to employees related to their responsibilities in supporting the Quality System and Division business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Education: Engineering degree – Preferred
  • Experience: 5+yrs of related field experience (Power Industry – Steam/Gas Turbines)
  • Knowledge: Process knowledge in Power Industry; detailed knowledge & proficiency in Quality Systems – ISO requirements familiarity; Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action; proficiency in current PC technology & effective use of software to create forms/documents.
  • Analytical & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision – self starter; Ability to effectively perform & contribute in a team environment; Ability to effectively work with & accomplish multiple priorities; Effective organizational and communication skills; Customer focused; Ability to identify, analyze, & solve Quality problems with practical solutions; Provide technical guidance on Quality issues.
  • Physical Demands: Exposure to industrial and office environments; Ability to travel to field locations when required.
