Job summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC is seeking a Manual Machinist for the Repairs Division, to repair and fabricate precision components for power generation equipment. Work in the St. Louis shop and on-site in the field with travel required.

You will operate machine tools including lathes, mills and grinders, maintaining tight tolerances and supporting diverse, technically challenging projects in both shop and field settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, apprenticeship training or trade school preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Experience with Bridgeport-type mills, engine lathes, VTLs and HBMs; skilled in grinders and portable tools.

Responsibilities

• Determine the most efficient work procedures and tools for tasks.
• Use precision instruments to ensure dimensions and tolerances (calipers, height gauges, micrometers).
• Operate and set up lathes, mills and grinders.
• Contribute to fieldwork during peak seasons with travel (domestic and international).
• Be flexible with extended hours during peak seasons, including day and night shifts.

MD&A's Repairs Division is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to use power operated machine tools, repair and/or fabricate precision metal parts/components that are found in various pieces of power generation equipment to specific tolerance levels. In this position you must be able to work in both the St. Louis shop and in the field. This position requires some travel.

Position Overview:

As a Manual Machinist in our Repairs Division, you'll use your expertise to operate machine tools, repair, and fabricate precision components critical to power generation equipment. You'll work in both our St. Louis facility and on-site in the field, making your role integral to our operations. This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of machines, from lathes, VTLs, HBMs and grinders, and work closely with other skilled professionals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Determine the most efficient work procedures and tools to be used on assigned tasks.
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and maintain strict tolerances (Vernier calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
• Operate and set up machines, including lathes, mills and grinders
• Contribute to fieldwork during pe ak seasons, requiring some travel (domestic and international).
• Be flexible with extended hours during peak seasons, including both day and night shifts.

Requirements

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED, apprenticeship training or trade school preferred.
• Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Skill Set: Experience with a range of machinery including Bridgeport-type mills, engine lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills (HBM), and more. Proficient in the use of surface grinders, blanchard grinders, portable lathes, and stud removal hydraulic drills.
• Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 50% (including international travel) and work extended hours as needed.
