Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive quality improvements and changes across engineering, supplier, and production processes.

The role focuses on risk assessment, validation, and compliance with internal standards and customer requirements with minimal production disruption. You will lead quality aspects of engineering and supplier changes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure documentation like FMEA, PPAP, and control plans are up-to-date to meet customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, supply chain or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years experience in Quality Engineering or Change Management in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of core tools: PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC.
• Strong understanding of Quality Systems and ability to read drawings.
• Experience with quality documentation and PPAP/AIAG requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality during launch of new programs and changes by following site and global standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to assess and validate quality changes.
• Ensure all quality documentation (Control plans, FMEA, WI, etc.) is updated per internal standards and customer requirements including PPAP
• Monitor quality KPIs and report to Quality Manager
• Lead advanced structured problem solving using 8D and 8-Step methodologies
• Support containment of non-conforming material and disposition per customer requirements
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools and internal QMS
• Respond to customer concerns following 8D methodology
• Support internal/external customer meetings and visits
