Job summary

Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is seeking a full-time Quality Engineer in Lewis Run, PA. The position reports to the Quality Manager and focuses on ensuring product quality across the powder metal process, engaging with customers, and driving continuous improvement.

Duties include addressing customer concerns, performing PPAP submissions, developing control plans, participating on APQP teams, interpreting SPC data, reading blueprints, and writing procedures

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or ASQ CQE is required.
• Able to read and understand written documents and procedures.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic and use formulas.
• Understanding of decimals, fractions, percentages and averages, plus basic statistics.
• Able to legibly record process/product data and records.
• Good knowledge of personal computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Address customer concerns as assigned.
• Perform PPAP submissions and associated documentation.
• Develop Control Plans as assigned.
• Participate on APQP teams.
• Provide active input to continuous improvement objectives.
• Thorough understanding of SPC principles.
• Gather samples, collect data, record and interpret results.
• Write and interpret inspection plans.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Assist in developing procedures and writing reports.
• Work compatibly with all associated groups.
• Prioritize work based on departmental guidelines.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Act as liaison and be familiar with IATF 16949, and ISO 9001.
• Actively participate in the training of others and aid in the evaluation.
• Thorough understanding of all processing steps in the powder metal process.
