Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer to join a tenured team within commuting distance of the greater Minneapolis, MN area. The role collaborates with operations, manufacturing, and product engineering to set quality standards and metrics that are economically maintainable for product acceptance.

The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison on quality issues with customers and suppliers, conduct supplier visits, and develop supplier quality audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field (quality, engineering, business, information systems).
• 5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Strong mathematical background to compile statistical data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality standards, specs, and metrics with operations, manufacturing, product engineering, suppliers, and customers.
• Serve as primary liaison with customers or suppliers on quality issues and perform inspection tasks.
• Visit suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues on a routine or emergency basis.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality audits and metrics; verify supplier quality systems on the production floor.
• Ensure accuracy of quality documentation including hold tags, inspection reports, data collection, and test reports.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving sessions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for internal and supplier quality issues.
