Job summary

A Part of Something Bigger is seeking a Quality Engineer or Sr. Quality Engineer to join a tenured team near the Minneapolis area.

The role collaborates with operations, manufacturing and product engineering to set quality standards and metrics while maintaining supplier quality systems. Ideal candidates have a strong mathematical background, Lean Six Sigma knowledge, and excellent communication skills, with 5 years of manufacturing quality experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field (quality, engineering, business, information systems, data management)
• 5 years of experience in a Quality position within a manufacturing environment or equivalent
• Strong mathematical background to compile statistical data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential

Responsibilities

• Develop quality standards, specifications, and metrics with operations, manufacturing, product engineering, suppliers and customers
• Act as the liaison between customers or suppliers on quality issues and perform inspection tasks
• Visit suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues
• Develop and maintain supplier quality audit materials and metrics; verify supplier quality systems and conduct audits
• Assure accuracy of quality documentation (hold tags, inspection reports, data collection, supplier inspection reports, test reports)
• Compile and present technical documentation for the audience; monitor conformance to standards
• Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and supplier quality issues
