Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer for Allentown, PA on-site. You will engage with operations and engineering to drive problem-solving, apply statistical methods, and manage quality plans across incoming, in-process, and finished goods.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or QualityEngineering or Statistics preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing and quality field.
• Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or CQE equivalent training and certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability functioning as a key member of a cross-functional team in problem-solving and Continuous Improvement activities.
• Must possess knowledge of gaging and inspection techniques, including GD&T.
• Proficiency in 8D, CAPA, 5Y, DMAIC problem-solving and corrective actions.
• Proficiency in system/process improvement tools (SPC, FMEA, DOE, 8D, Lean, PPAP, CPK, etc.).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodology, DMAIC; ISO 9001 audit experience.
• Knowledge of SAP, SPC software, Microsoft Office, Minitab and Power BI; customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Engage daily with Operations and Engineering to facilitate problem-solving and corrective action.
• Use statistical techniques to evaluate variation, drive quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Manage quality procedures, corrective actions, and supplier quality for new products.
• Gather quality data and provide monthly internal and external reports for continuous improvement.
• Support DFMEA/PFMEA, create control plans for manufacturing with embedded process controls.
• Support NCMR, root-cause analyses, and disposition processes.
• Develop PPAPs and lead measurement systems analysis (MSA) as required.
• Define and monitor quality plans for incoming, in-process, and finished goods inspections; maintain specs.
• Assist Engineering with specs for Raw and Finished Goods; monitor supplier quality management.
• Drive root cause corrective actions for customer complaints, supplier and manufacturing quality.
• Support quality management system maintenance and ISO requirements; lead continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen, Lean).
• Participate in audits and drive continuous improvement metrics (CPK/PPK, DPMO, scrap).
