Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Quality Engineer to partner with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure safety, quality, and performance of fire apparatus. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement across operations.

You will apply rigorous data-driven methods, participate in root-cause analysis, and contribute to standardizing processes while focusing on waste reduction and cost containment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality or related field.
• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Six Sigma Certification and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
• Experience applying Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and process improvement tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Champion safety, 5S, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing environment.
• Influence cross-functional teams to apply disciplined problem-solving methods.
• Utilize 8D and DMAIC methodologies to identify root causes and develop sustainable solutions.
• Apply Six Sigma and process improvement tools (process mapping, FMEA, SPC, etc.).
• Analyze manufacturing processes to improve capability and reduce variation.
• Guide teams in quality and continuous improvement techniques; build engagement.
• Establish control plans and standardized processes to sustain improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Order Management to resolve issues.
