AFC Materials Group in Lake in the Hills, IL, seeks a Quality Engineer to lead quality activities across Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D, integrating quality standards into new product development and ongoing operations.

You will lead the implementation of robust process controls (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP), drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements, mentor technicians, perform lab testing, and ensure ISO 9001 and FDA compliance to deliver top-tier product performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
• Proficient in FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methods and tools like 8D and fishbone.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate quality department activities with cross-functional teams.
• Lead new product launches with Engineering and R&D as the quality liaison.
• Define and implement process controls and CAPA initiatives.
• Oversee non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.
• Mentor quality technicians and ensure ongoing training.
• Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
