Job summary

Three D Metals is seeking a Quality Engineer to manage customer quality concerns and claims for metal products. You will lead investigations, coordinate containment, and drive corrective actions with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality teams to prevent recurrence and improve process quality.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in engineering/metallurgy and 3–5+ years in quality roles within metals manufacturing; experience with 8D, ISO 9001, and ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field (or equivalent).
• 3–5+ years in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or customer quality in metals/manufacturing.
• Experience investigating customer complaints and nonconformances; 8D reporting experience.
• Knowledge of metallurgical properties and testing methods for steel, copper, and aluminum; PPAP a plus.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems and ERP/quality software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for customer quality complaints and claims.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (8D, DMAIC, Fishbone).
• Coordinate containment actions and assess potentially affected inventory or shipments.
• Prepare formal responses to customer complaints and maintain documentation.
• Track trends in customer quality and drive cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
