Job summary

Three D Metals is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our quality team. You will manage customer quality concerns, investigate nonconformances, and drive corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality.

Reporting through ISO 9001 framework, you will lead 8D problem-solving, perform root cause analysis, containment, and timely communication with customers. Travel up to 15% may be required; PPAP, ERP systems and QMS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field.
• 3-5+ years in quality engineering or related roles in metal manufacturing.
• Experience investigating customer complaints and product nonconformances.
• Experience with 8D reporting and customer corrective action systems.
• Knowledge of metallurgical properties; ISO 9001 experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Occasional travel (5-15%) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for customer quality complaints.
• Document and track customer claims in the quality management system.
• Coordinate timely communication with customers regarding status and resolution.
• Lead investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, or DMAIC.
• Develop, implement, and verify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Contain and manage potentially affected inventory and shipments.
• Support audits and internal quality reviews as needed.
