Job summary

The Dixon Group, a Chestertown-based manufacturing company with a long history, is seeking a Quality Engineer for the Boss Division. This hands-on role leads root cause analysis, manages inspection systems, and drives continuous improvement that directly impacts our bottom line.

In this high-visibility position you will develop quality standards, investigate non-conformances across operations, and mentor floor staff in measurement techniques and blueprint reading to ensure adherence to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.
2–3 years of experience in quality, inspection, engineering or manufacturing.
CQE or CQI preferred.
Experience with quality and measurement systems.
Knowledge of ANSI/ASTM/API/3A specifications.
Proficient in 5-Why, Fishbone, or 8D methodologies.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to specifications.
Lead cross-functional investigations into internal and external non-conformances.
Use 5-Why, Ishikawa, or 8D to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Manage Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects to reduce scrap and variances.
Monitor KPIs and audit procedures; train floor personnel on quality practices.
