Job summary

RIX Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to promote operational excellence within the value stream and advance the Quality Management System. The role emphasizes preventing failures, improving supplier processes, and ensuring on-time delivery through robust QA plans and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• AA or higher in quality-related field.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 drawing standards.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes and GD&T.
• Ability to select components and organize bills of materials.
• Knowledge of materials, processes, and manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma principles.
• Project management skills to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Quality in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the QMS and KPIs.
• Develop and deliver training programs to build quality awareness and promote continuous improvement.
• Review contracts to determine quality, test, and workmanship requirements.
• Interface with Engineering and Manufacturing to transition designs to production per customer requirements.
• Review drawings, test procedures, and work instruction packages for completeness and accuracy.
• Contribute to internal audits as part of the audit team.
• Design Quality Assurance Plans for products.
• Assign flow-down requirements for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Contribute to supplier qualifications and source selections.
• Conduct supply chain process development to maximize delivered quality and on-time delivery (up to 50% travel).
• Promote design and manufacturing/test process improvements.
