Job summary

Keystone Mining Services seeks a Quality Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to lead testing of new and existing products, supplier quality initiatives, and investigation of manufacturing issues. The role collaborates with Engineering, Purchasing and Quality to ensure product conformance.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Materials) and ability to read CAD drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Inventor). Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing processes is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical or Materials) preferred.
• Ability to read drawings/models created with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Proficient with MS Office; strong grasp of manufacturing processes and QA principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab testing and organization tasks with guidance from Engineering.
• Apply engineering principles to compute, analyze and determine tools for testing setups.
• Assist with lab testing of manufactured or purchased products.
• Interpret product drawings, specifications and material requirements; prepare emails/reports detailing requirements and test results.
• Understand regulatory or industry standards for manufactured or purchased products.
• Assist in creating and organizing technical documents for manufactured/purchased products.
• Participate in vendor auditing and communication to support Purchasing of quality products and vendor development.
• Assist in quality audits and testing of products as assigned.
• Operate or learn to operate lab machines such as tensile and hardness testers and set up for tests.
• Determine proper test fixturing for standard testing or evaluation of parts.
• Prepare samples for testing using various tools; maintain lab organization and storage.
• Support sample part retention system by type and supplier.
