Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks a Quality Engineer for an established steel manufacturing and ground control solutions company in Pittsburgh, PA. This on-site, full-time role focuses on testing products, supporting supplier quality, and resolving manufacturing issues.

You will work with Engineering, Purchasing and Quality teams across facilities and suppliers to ensure all products meet standards, with opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand drawings or models created with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab testing and organize tasks with guidance from Engineering.
• Apply engineering principles to calculations and determine testing tools.
• Assist with lab testing of manufactured or purchased products.
• Interpret specification requirements from regulatory or industry standards.
• Prepare technical documents with testing results and requirements.
• Support vendor auditing and communicate testing needs to Purchasing.
• Assist in quality audits and testing of products.
• Set up lab machines including tensile and hardness testers.
• Determine proper test fixturing for testing.
• Prepare samples for testing using saws, mills, grinders.
• Maintain lab organization and storage for incoming parts.
• Assist with sample part retention by type and supplier.
